Duke

Originally released in 1987, Duke is an early-season, high-yielding variety that has proven itself for decades. Berries are large, firm, and mild to slightly tart. Duke is a popular choice in the mid-Atlantic region and well-suited for mechanical harvest. This variety blooms late but ripens early, which helps to protect blossoms from spring frost. While dependable, Duke requires a well-prepared growing site and regular pruning to produce uniform-sized, quality fruit. Upright plants can reach a height of 4–6′. For optimal production, another blueberry variety is recommended for cross-pollination. Grows best in Zones 4–8. 1 Unit = 1 plant.
