Almond Agaricus Sawdust Spawn
$29.99 Original price was: $29.99.$10.00Current price is: $10.00.
Description
Compared to its mushroom counterparts such as button, cremini, and portobello, Almond Agaricus is easier to grow and produces a sweet, earthy aroma reminiscent of almonds. This variety flourishes particularly well in compost! Recognized for its rapid substrate colonization and captivating almond fragrance, Almond Agaricus is a rewarding choice for mushroom enthusiasts. Under attentive care and warmer temperatures, it proves to be a consistent yielder. Colonization Rate: Almond Agaricus is a fast colonizer. If grown in well-cared-for beds in warmer temperatures, it may fruit in as little as 1–3 months and potentially faster in top-fruiting containers. Beds can produce infinitely, provided conditions are met for perennialization and adequate substrate is added yearly. Optimal Growing Conditions: Fruiting temperatures ranging from 70–90°F (21–32°). Almond Agaricus prefers complex, higher-nitrogen substrate like manure and compost to eliminate the need for pasteurization. Greenhouses or high tunnels provide optimal conditions for Almond Agaricus beds, facilitating extended growing seasons. While overwintering Almond Agaricus crops is difficult except within a greenhouse, thorough mulching in the fall could foster growth in the subsequent season. Warmer climates may offer a greater chance of second year growth. See our chart: Substrate Types for Growing Mushrooms for more information.Usage Recommendation: Almond Agaricus sawdust spawn is only suitable for outdoor beds or top-fruiting containers. Temperature Warning: Almond Agaricus mycelium is sensitive to cold temperatures and may perish if kept below 35°F (1.7°C). It is advisable to plant only when the average temperature has reached 50°F (10°C) for optimal growth. Note: This product is not a standalone mushroom grow kit. To induce fruiting, Almond Agaricus sawdust spawn must be combined with a substrate, such as straw (not hay), hardwood chips, or sawdust. Bag Weight: 5.5 lb. USDA Certified Organic.
