Whether prepared in a savory dish, dried for long-lasting use, extracted, or steeped in a tea, Lion’s Mane mushrooms offer incredible versatility. Intermediate growers will find the challenge rewarding as these mushrooms are slightly more difficult to cultivate than oysters or shiitake. Colonization Rate: While they colonize slowly their reliability as producers makes them a great choice for those looking to expand their mycological expertise. They take about 3–4 weeks in containers or buckets and 12–24 months on logs.Optimal Growing Conditions: Fruiting temperatures ranging from 55–70°F (13–21°C). Ideal wood species include Beech, Hornbeam, and Hard Maple. Alternatively, other suitable species like Alder, Aspen, Birch and more can be utilized.
