Kale, Purple Reign

Fast-growing, dark purple kale with purple petiole/stem for a high color concentration. Intermediate resistance to downy mildew. Mild kale flavor.Compared to KX-1, Purple Reign is a bit taller and bulkier at micro harvest stage and has darker purple leaves with a purple stem; whereas KX-1’s leaves are redder at micro stage and have a bright green stem. Also, Purple Reign’s cotyledons are dark green with a dark purple blush and KX-1’s cotyledons are bright green with a red blush. Both varieties are fast growing and mild in flavor.
