Cavendish

Description
Originating in Nova Scotia, Cavendish strawberry is the result of a cross between two varieties (Annapolis and Glooscap) known for their winter hardiness and attractive large fruit. Producing high yields that ripen over a long growing season, the fruit’s excellent flavor and overall quality make this variety a good choice for commercial growers. Cavendish is highly resistant to red stele and has some resistance to Verticillium wilt. The fruit may ripen unevenly in exceptionally hot conditions but will hold their excellent flavor. Harvest early midseason. Grows best in Zones 3–7. 1 Unit = 1 plant.
